Fits in almost any pocket: The practical automatic open-and-close compact umbrella with matching cover. The black umbrella with chrome-plated steel pole and a white Mercedes star print is presented as a windproof version. The 8-part umbrella, featuring a black release button, has a secure grip thanks to its plastic handle in an iconic design with an inserted silver-coloured 3D star badge. A black elastic wrist loop rounds off the equipment.

The small, subtle difference
The classic dyeing process for textiles is identical both for fabrics for umbrella covers and for the production of clothing. First, the required fibres are produced and woven into the finished fabric. Only in a second step is the finished fabric dyed using large quantities of fresh water, chemicals and energy, whereby the colour pigments are merely fixed to the fibre surface. The fabric then has to be dried again and the contaminated water has to be laboriously recycled or cleaned.

We use a granulate made from recycled plastic waste as the basis for our waterSAVE® coverings. The fibre is already completely dyed through during the actual production process (i.e. when the yarn is spun). Almost no water is required, additional, harmful chemicals can be largely dispensed with, and the drying time otherwise required in machines with high energy consumption is also eliminated
